Marta Mª Hernando (M’95-SM’11) received the M. Sc. and Ph. D. degrees in Electrical Engineer from the University of Oviedo (Spain) in 1988 and 1992 respectively. Since 1988 she has been with the Electronics Technology Area of the University of Oviedo, where she is full professor since 2011. She has developed her teaching activities in different degrees: Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineer and Computer Engineer. As regards her research activities, she has been working in Power Electronics Supply Systems, especially in AC/DC converters, Power Factor Correctors and Uninterruptible Power Supplies. She has been involved in more than 50 research projects with public and private funds (Alcatel Spain, Chloride Power Protection, etc.). She has published more than 50 papers in national and international journals and more than 100 papers in national and international conferences. She also holds one Spanish patent and one international patent promoted by Alcatel Spain.
